Event Details

We would like to invite you to a policy breakfast for the launch of ‘The challenge of co-production', a paper by the new economics foundation (nef) in partnership with NESTA.

Our public services face unprecedented challenges, made more urgent by the impact of the current economic crisis.  Traditional approaches to public service reform are unlikely to provide the answers we need.  Co-production is a new vision for public services which offers a better way to respond to these challenges – based on recognising the resources that citizens already have and redesigning services through partnerships with the public.  Early evidence suggests that it is an effective way to deliver better outcomes, often for less money.

This paper is the first publication from a major project between NESTA’s Public Services Innovation Lab and nef to increase the understanding of co-production and how it can be applied to public services.  We have established a network of pioneering frontline workers from across the UK who are using co-production to engage users and improve services.

The panel comprises of Dr David Halpern (The Institute for Government), Anna Coote (nef), Ben Lucas (2020 Public Services Trust) and Sian Lockwood (NAAPS) to discuss the value of co-production to public services.

Please join us for what we expect to be a challenging and thought-provoking discussion.  Breakfast will be provided.

Date: Tuesday 15th December
Time: Breakfast will be available from 8 am, for an 8.30 am start.
